Stupid Blogger

Only when the Blogger interface shows up properly in Firefox, then I would continue blogging. I refuse to use IE for security reasons and the Blogger interface is botched up big-time in Firefox. So I owuld have to wait until the Blogger interface shows up properly in Firefox before I continue blogging.

Call it a hiatus if you like, I will resume blogging when Blogger fixes its interface.

Just FYI, I'm using the computers at the public library to type this.

Study Groups

I am looking for people who would like to study with me i.e. form a study group or something like that. The few requirements I have are as follows:

1. Willing to put in effort to study
2. Not disruptive/annoying to a great extent

Basically, it means that anybody can form a study group with me. So all you have to do is to let me know of your intentions to study with me. That's all, and I would consider it. And hopefully we can work out a plan.

So now I'm waiting to see who would like to study with me. Would you?

My daydream

It's been forever since I last daydreamed. Today, I had a good opportunity to daydream, after I completed my Biology Test Paper. So here's what I daydreamed about, with all the key information taken out, so by filling in the blanks, you can figure out what I dreamed about. The first blank is filled for you.

Today, during Biology lesson, I dreamed about (1) me being with (2) ___________. The setting was at (3) ________________, and we were (4) ___________ ______ ___________. Along the way, we were having a nice (5) ________________. But before I could (6) ___________ ______ ___ ______ ___, the dream was over (i.e. the Biology test was over) . If only ...
Can you figure out what I dreamed about?

Handlebars - Flobots

After today's English lesson that passed by interestingly, I felt more compelled to put up today's song, that is, Handlebars from Flobots. Before I forget, the songs I'm putting up on July have something in common, something that makes me like these songs more than others. Can you figure out what this is?

A clue: it has nothing to do with the words themselves! Meanwhile, enjoy the song!

Lyrics to Handlebars [Flobots]
I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars
No handlebars

I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars
No handlebars

Look at me, look at me
Hands in the air like it's good to be ALIVE
And I'm a famous rapper
Even when the paths are all crookedy
I can show you how to do-si-do
I can show you how to scratch a record
I can take apart the remote control
And I can almost put it back together
I can tie a knot in a cherry stem
I can tell you about Leif Ericson
I know all the words to "De Colores"
And "I'm Proud to be an American"
Me and my friend saw a platypus
Me and my friend made a comic book
And guess how long it took
I can do anything that I want 'cause, look

I can keep rhythm with no metronome
No metronome
No metronome

And I can see your face on the telephone
On the telephone
On the telephone

Look at me
Look at me
Just called to say that it's good to be alive
In such a small world
I'm all curled up with a book to read
I can make money open up a thrift store
I can make a living off a magazine
I can design an engine sixty four
Miles to a gallon of gasoline
I can make new antibiotics
I can make computers survive aquatic conditions
I know how to run a business
I can make you wanna buy a product
Movers shakers and producers
Me and my friends understand the future
I see the strings that control the systems
I can do anything with no assistance

'Cause I can lead a nation with a microphone
With a microphone
With a microphone

And I can split the atom of a molecule
Of a molecule
Of a molecule

Look at me
Look at me
Driving and I won't stop
And it feels so good to be
Alive and on top
My reach is global
My tower secure
My cause is noble
My power is pure
I can hand out a million vaccinations
Or let'em all die in exasperation
Have'em all healed of their lacerations
Have'em all killed by assassination
I can make anybody go to prison
Just because I don't like 'em and
I can do anything with no permission
I have it all under my command

Because I can guide a missile by satellite
By satellite
By satellite
And I can hit a target through a telescope
Through a telescope
Through a telescope

And I can end the planet in a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust

I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars
No handlebars

I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars
No handlebars

Japanese Bullet Trains

The other name for the Japanese Bullet Trains is the Japanese Shinkansen trains. I was flipping through the Physics textbook when I came across the above. The next thing I knew, I was reminded of one of my classmate. I mean, take a look below:

Shinkansen ~~ Ching Ka Shen

Just wanted to add on (for fun!) that the bullet trains in Japan work because their underlying principle is based on using electromagnetism to cause repulsion, hence cutting down on friction (save air resistance of course!) .

YMCA - Village People

For the month of July, the songs that I'll put up for Music Mondays will have something interesting in common. See if you can guess what's common for the four songs!

To kick start this month's Music Monday, the song for today is YMCA (a classic) by the Village People. Enjoy!

Lyrics to YMCA [Village People]
Young man, there's no need to feel down.
I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.
I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy.

Young man, there's a place you can go.
I said, young man, when you're short on your dough.
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time.

It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A.
It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A.
They have everything that you need to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the boys ...

It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A.
It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A.
You can get yourself clean, you can have a good meal
You can do whatever you feel ...

Young man, are you listening to me?
I said, young man, what do you want to be?
I said, young man, you can make real your dreams.
But you've got to know this one thing!

No man does it all by himself.
I said, young man, put your pride on the shelf,
And just go there, to the Y.M.C.A.
I'm sure they can help you today.

You can get yourself clean, you can have a good meal,
You can do whatever you feel ...

Young man, I was once in your shoes.
I said, I was down and out with the blues.
I felt no man cared if I were alive.
I felt the whole world was so jive ...

That's when someone came up to me,
And said, young man, take a walk up the street.
It's a place there called the Y.M.C.A.
They can start you back on your way.

It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A.
It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A.
They have everything that you need to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the boys ...

Y-M-C-A
It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A
Young man, young man there's no need to feel down
Young man, young man pick yourself off the ground

Y-M-C-A
Then just go to the Y-M-C-A
Young man, young man I was once in your shoes
Young man, young man I said, I was down and out with the blues.
Y-M-C-A

Fatigue

Don't know why, but I'm feeling more and more worn out nowadays. Maybe I should sleep more. Maybe I should start diligently doing my homework. Maybe I should use the computer less often. But I'm still feeling tired!

(I was reminded of the the Chinese passage on 累 that the class started this morning ...)
