Dance Forever - Allstar Weekend

Today's song is Dance Forever, by Allstar Weekend. Enjoy!

Lyrics to Dance Forever [Allstar Weekend]
Baby, get up
Open your eyes now
the world's waking up
you realize we'll walk
to the beat so suddenly
while we make believe that this will
last forever
We won't sleep 'til 3 in the morning
this song speaks and
it's saying the real thing
it feels like we're living a dream
but tonight we're gonna
make this one right

We'll set the stage
and let the records play
on a Saturday
and we can dance forever
we'll burn the light that makes
the city sway
when we set the stage
and we can dance forever
forever X7
and we can dance together

We're crazy enough
to feel alive now
you've got the stuff
when we arrive
we'll walk to the beat so suddenly
and then you tell me
that we will stay together
We won't sleep 'til 3 in the morning
this song speaks and
it's saying the real thing
it feels like we're living a dream
but tonight we're gonna
make this one right

We'll set the stage
and let the records play
on a Saturday
and we can dance forever
we'll burn the light that makes
the city sway
when we set the stage
and we can dance forever
forever X7
and we can dance together

(Dance forever)
Turn around
just move it
with your feet on the ground
you'll prove it when you hear the sounds
we'll both lose it
then we'll make the rounds to dance forever

And when the music stops
and we can't wait for another day
well we'll just dance forever
We'll hold on tight and think of Saturdays
if you say my name
Then we can dance forever

We'll set the stage
and let the records play
on a Saturday
and we can dance forever
we'll burn the light that makes
the city sway
when we set the stage
and we can dance forever
forever X7
and we can dance forever

Journey of the Youth Olympic Flame - Part 1

Hi everyone! I will be taking part in the Journey of the Youth Olympic Flame, tomorrow!

Here's a map showing the location of my torch relay. I'm starting at Woodlands Dr 50, near Blk 888 (at the junction with Ave 4.) My end point is at the junction of Woodlands Dr 42 and Woodlands Ring Rd.

I will be running at about 6.05 pm, so do come down early, in case the flame reaches me early!

Here's the link showing how to get to my starting position (my ending position is indicated with the white circle somewhere along the route):

I'm Awesome - Spose

Today I'm on a really good mood, so here's a really nice song :D Enjoy!

Lyrics to I'm Awesome [Spose]
Awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome...
I don't necessarily need to be here for this...
I'm gonna keep the headphones though...
Mother fucker I'm awesome!
No you're not, dude don't lie
I'm awesome!
I'm drivin around in my mom's ride
I'm awesome!
A quarter of my life gone by
And I met all my friends online
Mother fucker I'm awesome!
I will run away from a brawl
I'm awesome!
There's no voicemail, nobody called
I'm awesome!
I can't afford to buy eight balls
And I talk to myself on my Facebook wall

You know my pants sag low (low)
Even though (though) that went out of style
Like ten years ago (go)
Spose, I got the swagger of a cripple
I got little biceps,
Getting fatter in the middle

And lyrically I'm not the best :)
Physically the opposite of Randy Moss and yet
So preposterous
Feel the awesomeness, the most obnoxious
Guest up at the sausage fest
Oh yes!
The girls are repulsed
So I hide in my hood like i'm joining a cult
Uh Uhh
I'm as nervous as my cattle dirty curtis
All my writtens are bitten and
All my verses are purchased
Me? I'll never date an actress
Got too many back zits
Plus my whole home aroma is cat piss
Every show i do is poorly promoted and if you like this,
It's cuz my little sister wrote it

I'm awesome!
No you're not, dude don't lie
I'm awesome!
I'm drivin around in my mom's ride
I'm awesome!
A quarter of my life gone by
And I met all my friends online
Mother fucker I'm awesome!
I will run away from a brawl
I'm awesome!
There's no voicemail, nobody called
I'm awesome!
I can't afford to buy eight balls
And I talk to myself on my Facebook wall
I'm awesome

Check it out

I'm from Maine and I don't hunt, nope
And I can't ski
Smoke weed but I can't roll blunts
Find me whipped by my wifey
My neck not icy
Eatin at McDonalds because Subway's pricey

Uh, and my unibrow is plucked
Just asked my mom if I could borrow ten bucks
She's like "For what?
Blunt wraps and some Heineken?
You skinny prick, go get a gym membership and vitamins!"
I'm like, Mom please, don't blame it on me
I got my bad habits from you, Dad, and Aunt Steve
My attitude's sour but my futon's sweet,
And the hair on my ass, it is Jumanji

Suit untailored, ringtone Taylor Swift
Can't tweet up on my Twitter
Cuz I haven't done shit
Bank account red, body ungroomed
The only thing good about me is I'm off stage soon

I'm awesome!
No you're not, dude don't lie
I'm awesome!
I'm drivin around in my mom's ride
I'm awesome!
A quarter of my life gone by
And I met all my friends online
Mother fucker I'm awesome!
I will run away from a brawl
I'm awesome!
There's no voicemail, nobody called
I'm awesome!
I can't afford to buy eight balls
And I talk to myself on my Facebook wall
I'm awesome

Futhermore I'm cornier than Ethynol
Cheesier than Provolone
I spent ages eight to ten living in a motor home
With a ego the size of Tim Duncan
Even though I got shit for brains like a blumpkin
I'm twenty four, serving lobster rolls
Because I spent a decade filling optimos
And I'm not even the bomb in Maine
On my game I'm only about as sexy as John McCain
Now put your hands up,
If you have nightmares
If you wouldn't man up if there was a fight here
If you got dandruff, if you drink light beer
I'm outta breath...

But I'm awesome!
No you're not, dude don't lie
I'm awesome!
I'm drivin around in my mom's ride
I'm awesome!
A quarter of my life gone by
And I met all my friends online
Mother fucker I'm awesome!
I will run away from a brawl
I'm awesome!
There's no voicemail, nobody called
I'm awesome!
I can't afford to buy eight balls
And I talk to myself on my Facebook wall
I'm awesome

Update for June + July 2010

It's almost two months since I last updated my blog with stuff from my life! Looks like it's time to update this blog with new stuff, so here's some of the key events that have occurred during the past two months.

1. Alpha Bravo Camp
This camp was really a tekkan leadership camp for all the class leaders, CCA heads and vice-heads, as well as councillors. Highlights of the camp include walking around Jurong and Clementi during the day, as well as walking from AJ to Marina Barrage at night! Of course the campers learnt a whole lot of stuff, like facilitation, goal-setting, SL matters, RAMS, conflict management, and the list goes on ... It's like how they use this camp to transfer all that the leaders need to know for leading their people :)

2. Singapore Rotary Club Installation 2010
This was held some time in the last week of June, before the common tests. I decided to come help out despite that night having been marked for GP revision. So I had a great night, helping usher the guests into the ballroom, and also taking photos with the President.

Yes, the President!!! Here's a photo that I took with the President of Singapore. Although I don't have the soft copy with me, this version that I photographed off the screen will suffice. It's not everyday that you get to be with the President; how cool is that?

3. Mid-Year Common Tests

So I studied during the second half of the June holidays for this. I was Astounded for Geography, Amazed for Physics and Chemistry, Mathematics was Awesome, but GP was Saddening. :(

4. Student Leader Handover Ceremony
This was held last week, during 22 July. See me at the bottom-left of the photo below?

It took two rehearsals, 2 "wasted" half days to prepare for this. The councillors and CCA leaders took up the bulk of the time, whereas the class leaders' section of the ceremony seemed to be added in as an afterthought: very short, very short :( Though we still got our 10 seconds of fame, as seen above :)

5. BPGHS's 50th Anniversary Dinner
This happened last Friday (23 July). I came at about 6 pm; by then the event had started, with a mass display performance like the National Day Parade display :D Then after the nice displays, it was time to go for dinner. But of course, the ants were earlier than us, and they happily transported the sugar/salt on the peanuts served back home, so no one dared to eat the peanuts.

Then dinner started, and we started taking photos. One by one teachers who taught us came over to our table (our table is with most of the people from the 2009 batch), and we took photos with them. I also did some exploring, and took photos with Mr Gui (!) and Mr Anthony (who was my coach 4 years back, during Band Comp 2006).

I also got the chance to take more photos with other friends and my band juniors.

The most memorable part of the night was the band's performance during the dinner. Before it started, band members past and present gathered at the front of the stage, whipping our their handphones to record their performance (me included!). Then they played, and they played many of the songs that I have played before; in fact it was some of the last songs that I have played during my sec 4 days.

6. AJ Interact Club's Installation
Our installation, though it was carried out smoothly, was not without hiccups. A false start, ushers waiting aimlessly for ACJC's representatives that never materialised, were some problems. Nevertheless things got done, which is a relief. Finally we can return to our organisations every Wednesday!

That's all for now; hopefully I can update some more during the National Day holiday! :D
