JJC's Interact Club Installation

Today, the three new J1 organisation leaders are "tasked" to go to JJC's Interact Club installation, which was today. Instead, one of them had the learning journey around AMK, so another "replacement" was sent instead.

So initially I have got no idea what this installation thingy worked. Then as guests the three of us from AJ observed the ceremony. Of course there were some other guests, like some from ACJC and RVHS, as well as some people from the Rotary Club at Jurong. The installation was essentially something like acknowledging the J2s and "welcoming" the J1s officially. A photo montage was in, as was the usual speech from the GOH. Then the official handover ceremony took place, whereby the J2 EXCOs officially pass their duties to the J1 EXCOs. *Insert fancy background music*

BTW, I learnt that the members of the Interact Club at JJC are called "CSL"s; the equivalent in AJ is "member"s. The term for "organisation" in JJC is "beneficiary"; this makes them sound so important! :D Also, the Interact Club there has like so much more activities as compared to ours; this could be due to the fact that service learning is hot in AJ, so our Interact Club cannot rob the other CCAs of some activities that they can carry out.

After the whole ceremony, there was a tea reception for everyone. I met a J1 EXCO member who had earlier transferred from AJ to JJ in the first few days of JC1. And I have a friend who did the reverse, ie. from JJ to AJ! And they are classmates! What coincidences :D

Maybe if our Interact Club need to organise more activities, we can work with some other Interact Clubs like JJC. They have loads of activities, as can be seen by the fact that they have 3 CSDs while our club only has 1 CSD. Sadded :( That brings us to the fact that our club like actually quite poor thing :( JJ's club has plenty of EXCO positions, and plenty of members too. Compare 50 to 35!

Anyway, I shall take a break for tomorrow's Cross Country run! Good night :D
